So tonight I learned a valuable lesson: middle school students have a hard time playing games where you must get in pairs. I should have known this from my extensive education in lifespan development (one class for one semester) but I somehow made what seemed to be a rookie mistake when asking over a hundred kids tonight to find a partner. You would think it's not such a hard task but after ironing out all the questions (can boys be with girls? can we have three partners? do we have to play?) we were left with a whole 5 minutes to play the game. It was absolutely nuts. Can I have a do-over?
